Sweet Treats

I found these goodies on Life Should be Delicious.

Dip the nutter butters in white chocolate and use mini-chocolate chips for the eyes and mouth

Use a favorite sugar cookie recipe

Topping:
1 pkg. cream cheese (softened)
1/2 C powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 med. size Cool Whip
Mix together until smooth. Spread over crust and top with favorite fruits

Ingredients in the Jar:Reduce

1 sleeve graham crackers (approx 1 1/3 c.)to crumbs and layer 2/3 of the crumbs in a 1 qt. jar. Place 8 marshmallow bunny peeps standing up, facing out around the inside of the jar pressing them against the glass, but don’t squash them.Carefully, spoon remaining crumbs in the center of the jar to support the bunnies, pressing down to keep it snug.On top of this pour 1 ½ c. Easter M&M’s.Spoon 1/3 c. brown Sugar into center of M&M’s gently pressing with a spoon.Decorate the lid of the jar however you please…tie curly ribbons around the neck of the jar.Directions: Empty the jar contents into a bowl. Snip the bunnies into bits with kitchen sheers or cut up with a knife. Return the bunny bits to the mixture and mix well. Melt ½ c. butter, add 1 t. vanilla. Pour this over the dry ingredients, mixing well. Pat into a greased 8x8 baking dish. Bake at 350 for approx. 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.*Option: leave the bunnies whole; combine remaining ingredients and place the bunnies on top; then bake as directed

2-3 Bags Pretzel Logs
5 lbs. White & Milk Chocolate Buttons(These will melt easily in the microwave)

Homemade Caramel:
2 C brown sugar
1 C corn syrup
2 cubes butter
1 C sweetened condensed milk
Stir constantly on high. Cook to a firm ball, then remove from heat and add 1 tsp. vanilla. Cool until caramel is almost set. Hold a large spoon of caramel and twist pretzel logs in caramel to coat all but bottom two inches. Place logs on chilled & sprayed cookie sheet. Place in freezer until hard.
Melt 1 c. chocolate buttons in microwave for 1 min. Stir, then microwave for 30 sec. at a time until melted smooth. Stir well after each 30 secs. Dip caramel covered pretzels in chocolate. Let harden.
Melt white chocolate buttons and drizzle fine diagonal lines over pretzels. You can also sprinkle grated nuts, coconut, or sprinkles on the end if desired.

Check out this cute clock from Just A Girl. You have got to click on this link to see what this clock looked like before. It makes me re -think about what i could do with some of the ugly stuff I see out there.

Here are some more fun stuff from her. I am actually making these right now. I have already spray painted the wreath and broom that I bought at Micheal's yesterday.(cheap too-the wreath was about $3 and the broom $2) I am now going to attempt to decorate them a bit. We will see how mine turn out!

Here's what you'll need and how you do it:8x10 frame (I picked up my black one at Target)12 glass pebbles (also found at Target or craft store)1 sheet 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock for the background (trimmed to 8" x 10")various patterned papers (I used some from a new Basic Grey Christmas line)circle punch (I used the 1 1/8" punch because those "fit" my glass pebbles)28" of ribbonMod Podgesponge brush & platehot glue gun for glass pebblesadhesive tape or glue for ribbontin foil for drying pebblesPunch circles of patterned paper. I also made a couple of circles in a document on my computer (they read "Merry Christmas" and "The Higgins Family"). Using a foam brush, apply a light coating of Mod Podge to the flat (back) side of each glass pebble - one at a time - and place the circle on the pebble with the pattern side of the paper touching the Mod Podge. Place these pebbles on some tin foil to dry while you work on the base of your art.Cut your cardstock to 8" x 10". Cut 3 blocks from 3 different patterned papers. The sizes are: 2" x 2" (for the top left corner), 2" x 6" (for the top edge), and 2" x 8" (for the left side). Adhere all pieces to the cardstock. Adhere ribbon along the edges of the patterned paper. Arrange the pebbles where you would like them to be. Using a hot glue gun (or some other strong adhesive of your choice), adhere the glass pebbles to your background.And with that ... you're done! I'll probably put this on our entry table inside the front door (when I decorate for the holidays). Of course this doesn't have to be holiday-specific. And you could put photos behind the glass pebbles. Oh, that would be SO cute. You could get REALLY creative with this! What a fun project to do with girlfriends or sisters or mom or your kids.

Block Ornaments from Becky Higgins

Got the wooden blocks at the craft store, painted each side, printed small pictures of the kids, placed a circle page pebble on top of each picture, cut around the page pebble and then adhered a picture/pebble to each side of the block. Finishing touch: Screwed some eyelet screws in the top & tied some ribbon on.

A litlte Mod Podge and Paint!

These were pine mirrors that I got at IKEA and decorated with scrapbook paper using Mod Podge.

This was a .99 composition book that I redid also with scrapbook paper and Mod Podge.

This was a plain pine picture frame that I got a Micheal's and redid with scrapbook pater. I painted the edges and the letters black. The wood letters and the pre-painted animals I also got a t Micheal's.
This I painted and used vinyl lettering and a little wire to hang it.

Paper Bag Albums

Paper bag albums - You take 3 paper lunch bags and fold them in half. Punch 4 - 5 holes along the left hand side to make it look like a book. Decorate in "scrapbook" style and add pictures and journaling. Very easy.

Blocks

This project is so simple! The blocks are made out of 4x4 blocks of wood. Just cut and sand them. Then spray paint them in whatever color you want. After the paint is dry, I took scrapbook paper (whatever pattern and colors you like), cut them to fit and then decoupage them on. I bought some Modge-Podge from Wal-Mart for this. You put a layer of the glue on, then the paper, then a layer on top. It dried clear! After the modge-podge is dry, just put the letters on with scrapbook adhesive. You could use any die cuts you want. Then just embellish them however you want, with ribbon, buttons, etc. You could spell HOME, LOVE, your families last name, or whatever.
